Nursing is one of the fastest-growing health care sectors and you can get ready for an exciting career in this field at SIU.  Our campus has joined with our sister campus, SIU Edwardsville, to offer a Bachelor of Science in nursing degree.  Students who complete the SIU Edwardsville Regional Nursing Program will earn their degree from that campus, but will attend pre-nursing and nursing courses at SIU Carbondale.  This puts a career in nursing within reach for those in the region.

The Regional Nursing Program curriculum in Carbondale is identical to the Edwardsville traditional program and is fully accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education.  The program comprises six semesters of intense didactic and clinical study.  Courses are delivered via teleconference, face-to-face problem-based learning, and web-based instruction.  Clinical course work is held at selected sites in southern Illinois.
