Ayush Kohli Wins 1st Place in ACM Student Research Competition - FSE 2017
September 18, 2017
The Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) held it's 2017 conference in Paderborn, Germany: European Software Engineering Conference and the ACM SIGSOFT Symposium on the Foundations of Software Engineering (ESEC/FSE). The ACM Student Research Competition (SRC), sponsored by Microsoft, offers a unique forum for undergraduate and graduate students to present their original research before a panel of judges and attendees at a well-known conference. The ACM Student Research Competition is the top student research competition in the computer science area.
Ayush Kohli, an undergraduate in our Department of Computer Science won 1st place in the ACM SRC with this paper. He received the certificate, a medal, and a $500 award from the ACM. Ayush will also have the opportunity to participate in the ACM SRC grand finals. The top three grand finalist and their advisors are invited to the Annual ACM Awards Banquet where they are recognized for their accomplishments.
We, along with his advisor Dr. Amiangshu Bosu and Dr. Rahimi, Chairman of the Department of Computer Science congratulate Ayush Kohli on the recognition of his hard work. We are pleased but not surprised. In November of last year, Ayush received recognition for a presentation at 2016 ACM Midsoutheast, Gatlinburg, Tennessee. We are proud of what Ayush has accomplished and suspect there's a lot more to come.
